Montclair Plaza and Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Celebrate “National Wear Red Day”
Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and Montclair Plaza along with Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) is helping create more awareness about the disease by celebrating “National Wear Red Day.” Held on Friday, February 7, the shopping center will recognize this “health day” by displaying a 5 ft. tall red balloon outside the elevator and several heart-shaped red balloons throughout the mall. Retailers are also getting in on the act. They will be wearing red clothes or red heart stickers. Large banners will also be hung throughout the mall.
Provided by PVHMC, a gallery including 27 photos of actual survivors who had cardiovascular conditions such as heart attacks and strokes, treated by PVHMC’s Stead Heart and Vascular Center, will be featured along with their stories. The display will be located in the Food Court and on the Lower Level of Center Court at Montclair Plaza.
National Wear Red Day is celebrated the first Friday in February as a way to bring attention to cardiovascular disease. The first National Wear Red Day began in 2003 as a way to fight against heart disease in women. The public is invited to show their support when visiting Montclair Plaza by wearing red and knowing their cardiovascular risk and taking action to live longer, healthier lives.
