Mystery Device That Caused Courthouse Bomb Scare Identified
The device caused police to stop all foot traffic and the evacuation of businesses around Pomona's North Court.

A sheriff's bomb squad today blew up a device near the Pomona Courthouse that appeared to be a bomb, but turned out to be a hoax device.
Police and the sheriff's bomb squad responded to the area of the Pomona Courthouse at 400 Civic Center Plaza about 2:30 p.m., said Sgt. Lena Becker of the Pomona Police Department.
At the corner of Mission Avenue and Main Street, all pedestrian and vehicle traffic was stopped and several businesses were evacuated. The courthouse as well as Pomona City Hall were also evacuated, Becker said.
