Parolee Suspected Of Robbery, Arrested In Claremont
A 26-year-old Upland man was arrested on suspicion of entering and robbing a Claremont business.

CLAREMONT, CA — A theft from a Claremont business left officers in pursuit of a suspect, who fled his vehicle. A loaded gun was fund inside, according to police. Now, 26-year-old Upland resident Javelle Hargrave has been arrested on suspicion of the crime.
"On April 29, 2018, Claremont PD Officers responded to a theft at 860 S. Indian Hill Boulevard, in Claremont. During the investigation, the suspect fled from officers in a vehicle and there was a lengthy pursuit through the City of Claremont and Pomona," Claremont Police Lt. Jason Waters said.
When the pursuit ended, the driver ran from the vehicle and disappeared.

Police continued their search of the suspect's vehicle finding a loaded semi-automatic handgun with a high capacity magazine and the serial number removed.
Through investigative means, the Detective Bureau identified the driver.

"On May 1, 2018, the San Gabriel Valley Impact Task Force conducted surveillance on the suspect’s apartment in the 1000 block of Pine Street, in Upland," Waters said. "The driver was seen leaving the apartment and arrested without incident."
He was transported to the Claremont Police Department Jail for booking.
"Hargrave is currently on parole for criminal threats. Hargrave was held without bail pending his court appearance," Waters said.
