Police Search for Man Who Used Crowbar in Robbery

The robber hit his victim with a crowbar, grabbed a briefcase then ran, police said. Police ask for the public's help in finding him.

Claremont Police are asking the public’s help in finding the culprit who robbed a victim of his briefcase late Sunday.

The robbery happened at 9:13 p.m. Claremont investigators said the victim had walked out to the parking lot behind the Mongolian BBQ at 970 W. Foothill Blvd. on his way to his car when his assailant came up to him and hit him in the hand with a crow bar.

The victim was forced to let go of the briefcase he carried. Officials say the robber grabbed it and ran westbound on Foothill.

Officers combed the area but did not find any suspects. They described the robber as a male, 5-foot-8, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.
