San Gabriel Valley Checkpoint Nets 5 Arrests

Police said 1,629 vehicles were screened at the checkpoint.

POMONA, CA -- An overnight driver's license/sobriety checkpoint in Pomona resulted in five DUI arrests, police said Saturday. Four motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and another motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, the Pomona Police Department reported.

Also, 32 drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while on a suspended or revoked license.

The checkpoint on Holt Avenue at Hershey Street began at 9 p.m. and ended Saturday at 3 a.m.
