San Gabriel Valley Teen Rescued From Human Trafficking

Police said she was found in the Holt Avenue Corridor.

POMONA, CA -- Plainclothes officers in Pomona said they rescued a 16- year-old victim of human trafficking while conducting a vice operation along the city's Holt Avenue Corridor, police said Sunday.

Holt Avenue "is nationally known as a track/blade where individuals can negotiate sexual acts in exchange for currency," the Pomona Police Department reported. "During the course of the operation officers encountered and rescued a 16-year-old victim of human trafficking."

The operation took place on Saturday. Police did not release an approximate time of when the operation occurred.

"The victim was interviewed and appropriate resources were activated to provide assistance to the victim," police said. "This investigation is ongoing."
