Settlement Reached in Antitrust Lawsuit Against Upland Co. That Designs, Builds Skateboard Parks
The lawsuit alleged that Upland-based California Skateparks pursued a strategy of "calling around" to competitors before the bid in an effort to determine who was competing.

A company that designs and builds skateboard parks agreed to settle an antitrust lawsuit accusing the firm of unfairly trying to win a contract to build a skate park at Hansen Dam, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.
Upland-based California Skateparks -- which did not admit any wrongdoing -- agreed to a stipulated judgment requiring the company to pay $20,000 in civil penalties and $45,000 in legal and investigative costs.
The settlement includes an injunction forbidding the company from communicating in any way with competitors and submitting below-cost bids for anti-competitive purposes, according to the District Attorney's Office.
