A suspect was killed tonight in an officer-involved shooting in Pomona.
The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Carruthers Court, said Sgt. Rich Pena of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The suspect, a man, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Pena said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were assisting Pomona police in the shooting investigation.
The shooting will also be investigated by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office and the county Office of Independent Review, as is standard in such cases.
