Two Suspected of Stealing Packages from Claremont Door Steps
Police say they arrested two people suspected of stealing packages after a resident reported they tried to grab a package in front of her home.

Two people who authorities said were caught by a Claremont resident in the act of trying to steal a package from the doorstep of her home were recently taken into custody.
Claremont Police investigators said Mario Fonseca, 32, of Pomona, and Serena Vasquez, 32, of Chino Hills were likely canvassing Claremont neighborhoods and stealing packages that were left on the front porch visible from the street.
The resident called police at 3:07 p.m. Investigators said the woman realized the two were near her home on the 100 block of Limestone Road and confronted them, prompting the two to take off.

The responding officers spotted duo’s black Honda Fit not far from the home. A search of the car turned up methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and multiple packages belonging to five different residents in Claremont, police officials said.
Both may now face charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property. They were booked at the Claremont Police Department Jail and released after posting $20,000 bail each.
