University of La Verne Gets Night on Ice

The Ontario Reign hosted its annual event with special uniforms featuring the school's logo, which were auctioned off to benefit the school's scholarship foundation.

Saturday night, the University of La Verne was on ice.

The Ontario Reign had its annual Go Green/Teacher Appreciation Night at Citizens Business Bank Arena, and the Reign sported special green uniforms featuring the University of La Verne's logo.

After the game, the uniform jersey and socks were auctioned off to the crowd to beneift the university's scholarship foundation. Each auction item started at $300 and went up in $100 increments. The average total each uniform raised was $900.

The night also featured the national anthem from a quartet from the school, and fundraisers around the arena benefitting the university. Also, facts about the school were shared by public address announcer Jeff Pope, along with environemental tips shared on the scoreboard.

Ontario lost to the Idaho Steelheads, 4-2.
