Walgreens Proposed for Claremont
The Pharmacy/retailer may be built on the empty lot between Marie Calendars and the 76 Gas station.

Developers are proposing to build new 14,550 square-foot Walgreens on the vacant land at the southeast corner of Towne Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Claremont.
The proposal consists of one building with a drive-thru, parking lot, landscaping, lighting, and associated signage, according to Claremont City Manager Tony Ramos. The proposal also includes parking and vehicle access connections with the adjacent commercial developments, he said.

“On April 24, the Architectural Commission conducted a preliminary review of the plans and on July 16, the Planning Commission approved a Conditional Use Permit, which allowed a drive-through pharmacy and retail sales of beer and wine for off-site consumption.
The project’s architectural designs, exterior colors, materials, exterior lighting, and landscaping will be reviewed by the Architectural Commission on Wednesday, July 24 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, located at 225 West Second Street.The project plans are on file in the Planning Division at City Hall, located at 207 Harvard Avenue, and are available for review Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. For additional information on the proposal, please contact Senior Planner Mark Carnahan at (909) 399-5322.”
