Was Pomona Church Fire Arson? Fire Officials to Investigate

It's unknown if the fire also will be investigated by the National Church Arson Task Force.

POMONA, CA - Arson investigators were trying to determine Wednesday if a fire inside a Pomona Church was deliberately set, authorities said.

The blaze inside Victory Outreach Pomona at 686 S. Garey Ave. was reported about 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, county fire dispatch supervisor Kyle Sanford said.

Smoke and fire were coming from the second floor of the church, according to Sanford. The department dispatched about 35 firefighters to the scene. The flames were extinguished about 26 minutes later. No injuries were reported.

Arson investigators were called to the scene, Sanford said.
