• Pioneer Energy Coming to Colusa County (colusacountynews.com) — Residents of Colusa and Colusa County will see a major change in their electric service starting October 2027, when Pioneer Community Energy begins supplying power while PG&E continues delivery. Customers will be automatically enrolled but can opt out, keep existing discount programs, and potentially access new rebates and incentives, while local officials gain a direct voice on Pioneer’s governing board. 
• Puptoberfest Set for Oct. 24 (colusacountynews.com) — Dog lovers in Colusa can mark their calendars for Puptoberfest, now revived for October 24 from 10 a.m. to noon at Veterans Memorial Park. Organized by the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce, the event features a dog costume contest, vendor and volunteer fairs, raffles, and a hot dog lunch, with proceeds helping Friends of the Colusa County Animal Shelter and local animal control.
• Colusa Tennis Stays Unbeaten in SVL (colusacountynews.com) — Colusa’s high school tennis team remains undefeated in Sacramento Valley League play after dominant home wins over Shasta Charter Academy and Durham, pushing its league record to 5-0. Led by strong singles and doubles performances, the RedHawks improved to 8-2 overall and put their unbeaten streak on the line in an Oct. 1 road match at Willows.
