2 Fallen Con Fire Firefighters To Be Honored In Memorial Service

The firefighters' names will be added to the wall that honors Contra Costa County fire personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — An annual event honoring Contra Costa County Fire Protection District personnel who died in service to their community is planned Saturday in Concord.

Con Fire leaders, employees and family members will gather at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Wall at Con Fire's Training and Education Center, 2945 Treat Blvd., to pay tribute to those District members inscribed on the memorial wall in recognition of their having made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community.

Two firefighters who died in the line of duty have been added to the wall this year: Peter Aliotti and Roger Harless.

Aliotti served as a captain for Con Fire, mainly in Concord, Pleasant Hill and Antioch. He died Aug. 18, 2018 at the age of 62.

Harless was also a captain for Con Fire. He died Jan. 9, 2019, of a heart condition at the age of 60.

United Professional Firefighters of Contra Costa County Honor Guard will be on hand for the ceremony honoring their fallen brothers.
