The Contra Costa County coroner’s bureau has identified the person found dead Monday on BART tracks between the Concord and North Concord stations as Malikyar Mirwais, a 48-year-old man from Aliso Viejo in Orange County.
It appears Mirwais was struck by a train because he suffered severe trauma, coroner’s Deputy T. Biggs said today.
BART officials have not said how or why Mirwais got on the tracks.
