CONCORD, CA —Downtown Concord’s Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden opens its doors to dogs and their owners on Sunday for “Pups on the Patio,” a full-day event blending craft beer culture with canine companionship, food, and interactive art.
Organizers partnered with Guilty Pleasure Bake Shop to transform spent grain from Side Gate’s Planter Box Pilsner into limited-run “brew biscuits,” which they will sell on-site so dogs can eat a product tied directly to the brewing process.
The brewery structures the event around multiple activations that drive participation across the afternoon and evening.
Staff run a raffle that pairs a four-pack of beer for humans with a four-pack of “dog beer” for pets, while artists guide a “paint your pet” session from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. that invites attendees to turn portraits of their dogs into artwork.
The beer garden also anchors the social space, where guests sit with their pets, sample fresh pours, and connect with other dog owners across Concord’s growing craft beer scene.
Food service from Limitless Kitchen includes smash burgers, sandwiches, street dogs, and fries.
Side Gate scheduled the inaugural event from noon to 9 p.m., offering free entry and encouraging walk-ins to turn the brewery patio into a shared space for pets, art, food, and local craft beer.
