CONCORD, CA — A reported fragrance heist at a Concord shopping center quickly turned into a foot chase and neighborhood search Tuesday afternoon, ending with two suspects in custody and perfumes recovered by police.
Concord police officers responded to a reported theft at the Ulta Beauty store in the Willows Shopping Center at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Concord police said two men entered the store and stole a large quantity of fragrances before leaving the area in a silver sedan.
Officers later located two suspects on foot near Thunderbird Drive and Cardinal Drive. Police detained one suspect, while the second fled, jumping over a fence into a residential backyard.
Officers launched a yard-to-yard search and eventually located the second suspect, taking him into custody.
Police said officers recovered the stolen merchandise.
