CONCORD, CA — Police are trying to identify two suspects captured on surveillance cameras in a series of recent residential and vehicle burglaries in Concord.
Concord police said the suspects have repeatedly targeted neighborhoods during the early morning hours by checking parked vehicles for unlocked doors.
When they find garage door openers left inside vehicles, they use them to open attached garages and steal tools and other valuable property.
In several cases, surveillance cameras recorded the suspects outside garages while carrying handguns, police said.
Although no homeowners have reported confrontations with the suspects, police urged residents to lock their vehicles at all times, avoid leaving garage door openers, keys, wallets, or other valuables inside vehicles, keep garage doors closed and secured overnight, and report unusual activity immediately.
Anyone who recognizes either suspect, or has surveillance footage or other information related to the burglaries, should contact the Concord Police Department at (925) 671-3333. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Bay Area Crime Stoppers.
