Concord Police Report: Firearm, Drug, Mail Theft Arrests Among Incidents Reported During the Week (claycord.com) — Concord Police logged multiple arrests between Aug. 19 and 25, including a major firearms-and-drugs case near Hamilton and Dormer and a separate mail-theft arrest on Clayton Road. Officers also handled DUI stops at several Concord intersections and investigated burglaries at storage facilities, a dealership, a residence, Sunvalley Mall and other commercial sites.
2. In brief: Los Medanos College to grant funds to East Contra Costa groups (eastbaytimes.com) — Mark your calendar for Concord Pedal Fest on Sept. 27 at Baldwin Park, a free, family-friendly biking celebration with rodeos, safety demos, games and a special family cycling workshop. The brief roundup also highlights Concord-based White Pony Express's food-rescue work in Antioch and several other East Bay community events and programs.
3. Cross Country 2026 (sjsuspartans.com) — A 2026 cross country team roster highlights runners from across California, including athletes from Concord's Clayton Valley High School. Concord residents may recognize local students listed among competitors from Livermore, Dublin, Pittsburg, and other cities, giving a snapshot of who's representing the area in collegiate distance running this season.
4. Rob Zombie Reunites With One of the Most Controversial Figures in Rock Music for a Cover of The Beatles (vice.com) — Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson are touring together again and will wrap their Freaks on Parade tour in Concord at the Toyota Pavilion on Sept. 20. Along the way they've been performing a dark, high-energy cover of The Beatles' "Helter Skelter," which has quickly become a fan-favorite moment in their shows.
