3. Suspected Fairfield Norteños came to Concord. But were they trying to kill 'Goofy' or teach him a lesson? (mercurynews.com) — A Concord stabbing tied to alleged Fairfield Norteño gang members is heading to trial, after a judge reduced the original attempted murder and conspiracy charges to assault and related counts. Jurors will weigh whether two brothers conspired to seriously injure a rival known as "Goofy" during a 2025 graffiti dispute near Highway 242, amid ongoing concerns about Monument Boulevard gang tensions.
4. Self-flying plane landing in Concord after cross-country flight (newsbreak.com) — A self-flying Joby Aviation plane is scheduled to land at Buchanan Field in Concord, wrapping up what the company calls the first autonomous flight across the United States. Supervised remotely with a safety pilot aboard, the aircraft handled its own taxiing, takeoffs, navigation, and landings, highlighting Concord's role as home base for Joby's autonomy team and future aviation innovation.
5.
