CONCORD, CA — Concord High students will collect nonperishable food and financial donations for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano during their "Scare Away Hunger" drive Friday.
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District high school students are collecting donations to help local families.
The collection runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the school's parking lot at 4200 Concord Blvd.
Donors can bring nonperishable food or checks to the Food Bank truck. Those donating by check should write a student team's name — AVID, Band, Choir, Cross Country, CSF, Key Club, Leadership, or Link Crew — in the notes line.
Supporters can also donate online.
