Incidents occurred on familiar streets like Willow Pass Road, Concord Boulevard, Monument Boulevard, and near Oak Grove Road, highlighting ongoing public safety concerns in local neighborhoods.
• 2.1 magnitude earthquake struck close to Concord, CA on Nov. 1 (sacbee.com) — A small 2.1 magnitude earthquake shook an area about two miles west of Concord early Sunday morning, but was too minor to cause damage. Local residents are encouraged to report whether they felt it to the USGS and review basic earthquake safety steps like drop, cover, and hold on to stay prepared for future quakes.
• DSJ Exchange Renamed Itself a Month Before the SEC Sued It (hannahhowell.com) — A massive SEC lawsuit over an alleged $130 million crypto scheme has a Concord connection, with one top-level promoter reportedly running a physical office here and recruiting thousands of investors. The complaint says the operation used lofty promises, fake paperwork, and Ponzi-style payouts before blocking withdrawals and pushing people into a new platform, leaving regulators worldwide scrambling to respond.
