City Council Makes Board and Commission Appointments

At its meeting on February 14, the Concord City Council made appointments to the Design Review Board and to the Planning Commission.

Incumbent Jack Moore was reappointed to the Design Review Board for a term ending February 28, 2015. The Design Review Board reviews the design of each improvement for which a building permit, certificate, or other approval is required and any matter referred to the board by the Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator or Planning Manager. Incumbent John Mercurio was reappointed and Carlyn Obringer was appointed to the Planning Commission. Obringer comes to the Planning Commission from the Design Review Board. They will both serve terms ending February 28, 2015.

The Planning Commission develops and maintains the General Plan of the Concord planning area, makes recommendations to the City Council regarding proposed General Plan amendments and municipal code modifications, and reviews planned district developments, tentative subdivision maps, and use permit applications. Additional duties may include formulation and review of design projects and recommendations regarding compliance with the General Plan.
