BART Delays After Swarm Of Quakes In Bay Area

BAY AREA, CA — BART riders saw delays this morning after an early-morning swarm of quakes hit the East Bay.

BART officials said to expect delays of up to 20 minutes systemwide due to an earthquake in the BART service area.

The quakes — a total of 19 — started at about 6:30 a.m. near San Ramon.

The agency shut down trains temporarily to inspect the system for damage.

Train schedules were returning back to normal at 8:15 a.m. after the safety checks finished but riders are still seeing slight delays.
