- Windy enough for ya? Winds in Contra Costa on Monday reached 76 miles per hour! We were the windiest part of the Bay Area, according to the National Weather Service. "The reading was taken on South Black Diamond Way, in between Clayton and Antioch." (Claycord.com)
- If you're planning on partying on New Year's Eve, BART wants you to plan on public transportation home. BART is extending its hours past 1 a.m. on December 31. The yellow, blue and orange lines will offer the extended service. "Riders are urged to avoid lines by adding a Clipper card to their phones." (Claycord.com)
- San Ramon Police arrested the guy who was harassing people at the In-N-Out in that city, as well as in other locations on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Jordan Douglas Krah of Colorado was arrested on Monday on suspicion of violating California's Hate Crime Laws related to the incidents. He was booked into the county jail in Martinez. (News 24/680)
- A new food truck is on the beat in Antioch. This one is a cross between a food truck and a farmers' market, and the people of Antioch are eating it up! "Fresh Approach is a Bay Area nonprofit dedicated to connecting residents to healthy food from California farmers and to expanding knowledge in the community about food and nutrition." The Fresh Approach truck is in Antioch on Tuesdays, visiting both the Senior Center and the Sutter Delta Medical Center. (Antioch Herald)
- A big rig jackknifed on Highway 242 in Concord early Tuesday morning. It closed a couple of the lanes, but they were back open by 6:30 a.m., in time for the morning commute. (Contra Costa News)
