Big-Rig Jackknifes, Spills Fuel On Highway 242 In Concord
TRAFFIC ALERT: All northbound lanes were blocked Wednesday morning.

CONCORD, CA — A Sig-Alert issued Wednesday morning on state Highway 242 in Concord, where a big-rig jackknifed in the northbound lanes causing about 90 gallons of diesel fuel to spill, was lifted at 10:55 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 7:55 a.m. on northbound SR-242 in the area of the Grant Street on-ramp. Gas was gushing out of the ruptured tanker, with fuel leaking all over the highway, CHP dispatchers reported.
All northbound lanes of SR-242 were blocked by the overturned big-rig but were reopened just before 11 a.m., CHP officials said.

State fish and wildlife officials were notified of the incident because of storm drains in the area.
