Here are the top stories in Concord today:

  1. A Brentwood man was identified as the kayaker who went missing in Tomales Bay last week and was later found deceased. Clinton Yoshio Koga entered the bay to pick up a crab cage that his group had set earlier in the day. He was reported missing by a friend within 30 minutes of entering the water. Koga's body was recovered a day later, approximately 100 yards from where he had entered the bay. (Concord Patch)
  2. Walnut Creek Police were able to track down a car used in a robbery through license plate-reading technology. The police recovered dozens of bottles of alcohol, as well as other products that were allegedly stolen from an unnamed grocery store. Two suspects were taken into custody and "booked into county jail on robbery, shoplifting and burglary charges." (KRON 4 San Francisco via MSN)
  3. Antioch Police officers received a report Wednesday afternoon of a possible burglary in progress. The victim was described as an elderly woman. Police arrived onscene and witnessed the suspects fleeing in a vehicle that was backed into the driveway of the residence. Police pursued the suspects down Highway 4, where they crashed into a guardrail. The suspects, later identified as Donley Thompson and Delancey Huff, were arrested and taken into custody. (KRON 4 San Francisco via MSN)
  4. A grant from a Kaiser Permanente fund at the East Bay Community Foundation is funding 22 surgeries for low-income individuals today at the Kaiser in Walnut Creek.
