Clayton Valley Village

Helping Seniors Stay in Their Homes

I just want to give a "shout-out" for Clayton Valley Village. My husband and I have been members for over a year and have found membership to be truly rewarding. I've met so many kind and helpful (as well as fun-loving) people by joining this community that I'm sure I would have never met otherwise. And one of the great things about it is that we all live in this area -- Clayton and South Concord. If you are "retirement age" and are looking for a supportive community who's goal is to help you stay in your home as you age (and to have fun doing it!) check it out at www.ClaytonValleyVillage.org.

The concept of villages offers an opportunity for seniors to stay in their own homes for as long as possible and offers communities a network of services to support their aging population. Sometimes it takes just a little support, an occasional change of our light bulbs or ability to join close-to-home social, exercise or educational programs, to be able to stay in our homes as we get older. For others, daily check-ins are important to feel safe and for others occasional support with a pet, organization of our paperwork, or computer/cell phone coaching would make life easier

More info: Clayton Valley Village is a nonprofit 501c3 grassroots organization that launched services on May 1, 2017 in our area (Clayton and South Concord). It is one of about 400 villages across the United States and is part of the national Village Movement. Villages began about 15 years ago with the Beacon Hill Village in Boston. This movement is now on fire with baby boomers and seniors coming together to create a new kind of future for ourselves. We are having a membership drive May 15-June 15 and will be giving away an embroidered Clayton Valley Village hat to all new members. Check out the attached flyer for more information.
