Coming Up: Concord Library To Close For 2 Weeks
Remodeling project will be underway, including new carpet and new paint!

CONCORD, CA – The Concord Library at 2900 Salvio Street will be closed for two weeks for a remodeling project, according to the Contra Costa County Library and the City of Concord.
The library will be closed from Aug, 22 through Sept. 5 for improvements that include replacing carpet in the main library space, children’s area, teen area and meeting room, and new paint in several areas. Since the work will require scaffolding units and use of heavy equipment and machinery, the library will be closed to ensure public safety, the city said.
The Contra Costa County Library also chose the Concord branch to receive a facility refresh this year which means upgrading worn seating and tables and the addition of an area rug in the teen space, a new mural and new early literacy activities and tools in the children’s area, new DVD and CD corrals, new mobile shelving units, a new magazine rack and new end caps in the fiction and non-fiction stacks.

Library staff will provide minimal services Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from the City of Concord’s Permit Center lobby, located on the north side of the Concord Civic Center at 1950 Parkside Drive.
