Concord High Winter Guards and Percussionists Shine

Congratulations to the Winter Percussion and Winter Guard for taking first place in their respective divisions at a competition in Antioch High School on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The Winter Guard won the Novice A Division, while the Winter Percussion won in the Advanced Division.

Winter Percussion is an indoor performance featuring marching percussion (battery) and front ensemble (pit). The group performed to Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror,” using props, various equipment work and dance moves.

The Concord High Winter Percussion show this year is “The Inner Crisis of Vesuvius,” an original musical piece by the Band Director Gary Coartney.

The next competition for Concord High Winter Percussion and Winter Guard is at the Pageantry On Parade at Fairfield High School on Saturday, March 5.
