Concord Man Sentenced For Selling Cocaine

The federal case was the result of a drug trafficking investigation by the DEA and the Concord Police Department.

EAST BAY, CA — A Concord man was sentenced Friday in a federal Oakland courtroom to six years in prison for selling cocaine and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office and the DEA. The sentence comes after Oscar Rene Noguera Baeza, 31, pleaded guilty Nov. 9, 2018 to the charges.

Federal prosecutors said Baeza in a plea agreement admitted he was paid a total of $36,960 for over a kilogram of cocaine he distributed in a series of transactions between June 2017 and February 2018.

Baeza also admitted to having in his possession a Springfield XD40 semi-automatic .40-caliber pistol loaded with eight rounds of ammunition, and an extended magazine that could hold at least 16 rounds of ammunition, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
