Here are the top five stories today in Concord:

  1. Live Nation has announced that Lawn Pass will be available at 30 venues, including the Concord Pavilion for the 2022 summer concert season. With a Lawn Pass, fans can attend concerts at their local amphitheater music venue, including select sold out shows. A Lawn Pass can be purchased for just $199 (plus fees) per venue, and provides access to shows at that specific venue all summer long. Each venue will have a limited number of Lawn Passes available. Passes are sale starting Tuesday, March 1 at 10 a.m. PT at LawnPass.LiveNation.com, while supplies last. Each Lawn Pass purchaser will receive a custom personalized credential with their name that serves as their ticket on each show day. (BLABBERMOUTH.NET)
  2. The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors discussed on Tuesday whether to sign off on the environmental impact report for a developer's plan to build 125 condos on the former Palmer School site in unincorporated Walnut Creek. The Oak Road Townhouse Condominium Project would be built on 5.94 acres, across Jones Road from I-680 and near the Pleasant Hill BART station. All of the buildings of Palmer School, which operated there from 1939 until it closed in June 2020, would be demolished. The project includes the removal of approximately 74 trees and relocation of one tree. (Claycord.com)
  3. An international online vehicle auction company will pay out nearly $1 million as part of a settlement agreement with several California cities and counties, including Contra Costa, over alleged hazardous waste violations. The Dallas-based company is alleged to have improperly discarded hazard waste in the trash. "Copart was cooperative with the investigation and enhanced their existing training programs designed to properly manage and dispose of all items that are regulated as hazardous waste," said Contra Costa said District Attorney Diana Becton. 4. Two felony suspects led Lamorinda police officers on a high-speed chase along Highway 24 before crashing their Honda on the Wilder on-ramp west of Orinda Monday. Witnesses said the two men ran from the car and attempted to elude officers – one allegedly attempting to carjack another vehicle and the other surrendering after he was bitten by a police dog. Both men were taken into custody at approximately 3:56 p.m. (News 24/680)
  5. At 1:47 am Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle crash at Laurel Road and Hillcrest in the City of Antioch.
