"Let us know where your National Night Out celebration will be so we can stop by and see old friends and make some new ones," Concord police said. "We can't wait to see you!"

The nationwide National Night Out tradition began in a Pennsylvania town in 1970, and the annual campaign, intended to build police and community camaraderie, began expanding across the country in 1984.
