Concord School Awarded $3,500 Education Grant

CONCORD, CA — A Concord school is one of dozens in the Bay Area awarded a combined $100,000 in grants to fund programs ranging from musical instruments to Korean language classes to Chromebook laptops for students to use in classrooms.

Summit Continuation High School will use its $3,500 grant to create a leadership class and fund this year's senior activities.

The grants, presented on Dec. 12 to students and teachers, were given out as part of the Wells Fargo KNBR Step Up to the Plate program, which has granted more than $1.3 million over the last 18 years.

Brandon Crawford, shortstop for the San Francisco Giants, helped present the combined $100,000 in grants to 32 Bay Area schools.
