Here are the top five stories today in Concord:
- Cal High in San Ramon is in the news again with more racially charged imagery emerging on social media. This time it's a caricature of George Floyd and the words "spare some air" written next to it on a boy's bathroom wall. Unfortunately, parents and students say they are not surprised. "There's been graffiti in the bathrooms which has been there for years and years," said Senior Ashan Fernando. "Recently it's been happening a lot, I'd say I do see it when I'm in the bathroom. Outside I see kids talk about it a lot on social media. I do get disgusted by it." The San Ramon Valley Unified School District tells ABC7 News this week it hosted a live stream discussion on these incidents with students and called the incidents "unacceptable and not representative of who the Cal High Grizzlies are." (KGO-TV)
- It's going to be SPECTACULAR weather in Concord for this Memorial Day! The clouds will clear and the temperatures will rise just in time for Memorial Day. Sunday and Monday will be pleasant with plenty of sunshine and breezy in the afternoon; AccuWeather forecasts a high temp of 76 on Sunday and a high of 79 on Monday. (Concord Patch)
