Concord Visitor Center Has Its Official Opening (PHOTOS)

CONCORD, CA — Dignitaries and the public recently came out to officially open the doors of the Concord Visitor Center in historic Todos Santos Plaza.
The festivities included a ribbon-cutting ceremony — originally scheduled for April 2021 — and a mixer featuring Mexican cuisine from a Concord restaurant.
"We are so excited to officially open the Visitor Center and invite travelers from all over to explore Concord," said Elaine Schroth, president and CEO of Visit Concord. "We were prepared to open our doors just before the pandemic so it’s extra special to see all our efforts finally realized! Come to Concord! We have lots for you to see and enjoy!"

At the Visitor Center, people can explore where to go and what to do while in Concord for a getaway, staycation or business trip, or for entertaining family and friends.
Guests can plan a hike to the top of Mt. Diablo State Park, a day at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Water Park or an outing to see a show at the Concord Pavilion. Guests and locals can also explore one of Concord’s hidden gems like Markham Nature Park and Arboretum, Pixieland Amusement Park and restaurants featuring 27 different kinds of ethnic cuisines.

Popular amongst travelers are Concord’s Taco Trail and the Contra Costa Beer Trail; maps for both are available at the Visitor Center.
The center itself is a great place to spend time during a visit to the city. It’s located in the heart of historic downtown Concord, surrounded by great restaurants, tap houses and beautiful Todos Santos Plaza. At the center, visitors can use the interactive information kiosk to help find their way to all experiences.
There are also art, parks and historic exhibits curated by local organizations including Save Mt. Diablo, East Bay Regional Parks, Concord Historical Society and the Concord Art Association. The staff can also offer a variety of tickets and discounts to local attractions, maps, brochures, guides, hotel and tour information, transportation schedules and free wi-fi & charging stations, as well as exclusive local artisan goods and logo merchandise in the gift shop.
