The Library and the League of Women Voters, Diablo Valley and West Contra Costa chapters, recently presented a program focusing on the mental health resources that are available in Contra Cost County. The panel was moderated by Dr. Cindy Mataroso, the Director of Clinical Services at Crestwood Behavioral Health. Panelists included Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer Kahan, SuSun Kim, Director of the CCC Family Justice Center, Dr. Suzanne Tavano, Director of Behavioral Health Services, Contra Costa County Health and Gigi Crowder, Executive Director of NAMI Contra Costa County.
Contra Costa County and nonprofits are responding to the challenge of the growing emotional and mental health impacts of the pandemic. The panel discussed the pathways to mental health resources the county and nonprofits offer and the challenges to improve mental health outcomes as we seek to create a healthier community for everyone. The League of Women Voters has created a useful Mental Health Resources List which links to sites offering information about resources throughout the County as well as slides with information about the moderator and panelists.
