Did You Feel It? Small Earthquake Jiggles Contra Costa County

The USGS recorded the quake at 11:32 a.m.

A small earthquake was reported this morning in Contra Costa County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The 2.7-magnitude quake was reported at 11:32 a.m. and was located 1 mile south-southeast of central Crockett and 2 miles west-southwest of Benicia, USGS officials said.

The temblor had a depth of 6.7 miles, according to the USGS.

More than 100 local residents logged onto the USGS Did You Feel It reporting site. Most respondents were in Vallejo or Benicia.
