Here are the top stories today in Concord:
- Concord Police will hold a community meeting for North Concord residents on Monday, April 3, to discuss recent incidents with gun violence. Police need your input to help make your neighborhoods safer. "We welcome all questions and comments." (Claycord.com)
- The Physicians' and Dentists' Organization of Contra Costa, representing over 240 doctors, reached a labor agreement with management on March 21. The agreement increases time that doctors get to "manage their panels of patients" and "makes the compensation package more competitive in the Bay Area market." (Claycord.com)
- State Assemblyman Tim Grayson, representing District 15, introduced 21 new bills this year, ranging from supporting our first responders to regulating cryptocurrencies. He outlines his most important proposed legislation in this article in The Pioneer.
- Crime is down 3% from 2021 to 2022, according to a report that Police Chief Mark Bustillos presented to the Concord City Council at its February 28 meeting. "He shared the unaudited data was showing rape, larceny theft, and arson were all down. However, burglary and vehicle thefts were up." (Contra Costa News)
- A 100% Spanish immersion program called My Spanish Village expanded to a new location in Pleasant Hill, which will serve preschool through second grade education.
