Domestic Violence Nonprofit Lays Off Workers

A Concord nonprofit will have to make-do with less workers after receiving $300,000 less in donations this year than 2011, according to a Contra Costa Times report. 

STAND For Families Free of Violence has cut 12.8 positions as a result of the lack in donations, but tells the local paper that while wait time for services may grow, services themselves shouldn't be affected.

"We hope that there will be a very limited difference to our clients, mostly because we will restructure how we deliver services," the nonprofit's CEO, GLoria Sandoval, told the CCT.
