  1. Senator Steve Glazer hired ex-Concord mayor Dominic Aliano as his new District Coordinator. Aliano replaces George Escutia, who held the position for the last 3 1/2 years. Senator Glazer said, "Dominic has a strong background in delivering on the needs of local constituents. And he brings a personal history to my Senate District, having been raised in Concord and serving their residents on the City Council." (Contra Costa News)
  2. Friends and family of a missing 19-year-old Pittsburg man are asking for help locating him. Damond Lazenby went missing early on New Year's Day. His phone last pinged at the Chevron on Willow Pass, according to a family friend. Lazenby's "clothes were found outside his still running car, which was located in the Port Chicago area." Right now, foul play isn't expected, according to the Concord Police. (KTVU FOX 2 San Francisco)
  3. A Pittsburg police DUI checkpoint held right before New Year's Eve nabbed three drivers who were allegedly driving under the influence. The officers at the checkpoint also cited 15 others for offenses, including driving without a valid license. (Claycord.com)

  5. Thieves smashed the car window of a customer at the Wells Fargo branch in Danville. That wouldn't be too alarming, except that the driver of the vehicle was in the car at the time! "A purse, laptop and money were taken though the driver was not believed to be injured." (News 24/680)
