Earthquake Rattles East Bay

The earthquake was reported just after 5 a.m. Did YOU feel it?

BAY POINT, CA— A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck north of Bay Point, jolting residents across the Bay Area awake Thursday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor was reported at 5:07 a.m. Thursday.

Social media users said they felt it in Antioch, Concord, Martinez, El Cerrito, Pinole, Rodeo, Belmont Hills, San Rafael, San Bruno, San Mateo, South San Francisco, Burlingame, Clayton, Dublin, Brentwood, Richmond Suisun City, and as far away as Santa Cruz and Sacramento.

SF BART tweeted that trains were running at reduced speeds as workers completed track inspections after the temblor.
