Fatal Accident Closes Stretch of Concord Blvd.

A fatal accident has closed a portion of Concord Boulevard in Concord this afternoon, police said.

The accident occurred on Concord Boulevard at Ayers Road, police said. Fire crews responded to the intersection at about 11:20 a.m., a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

Concord Boulevard is closed in both directions between Ayers Road and Trailcreek Court, according to police. The roadway is estimated to reopen around 5 p.m., police said.

Motorists are advised to use Clayton Road or Myrtle Drive as an alternate route, police said. No further details were immediately available.
