Fiery Fatal Crash On I-680

CONCORD, CA — One person died in a fiery crash on I-680 Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The right-hand lane was closed on the northbound side near Concord Avenue for about 3 hours, from 4:30 to 7:30.

The CHP was told that the vehicle was swerving, ran off the right side of the road into a ditch and caught fire.

Although the vehicle was completely off the road, the right lane was closed as a precaution.
