Fire Destroys Vacant Concord Restaurant
The blaze at Imperial Seafood Restaurant was reported around 4 a.m. Friday.

CONCORD, CA — A fire early Friday destroyed much of a vacant restaurant in Concord.
Around 4 a.m. Friday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to reports that a fence fire appeared to have extended into the former Imperial Seafood Restaurant at 1680 Willow Pass Road.
The first engine crew on the scene reported smoke was coming from all sides of the single-story restaurant. Crews worked to extinguish the fence fire and gain access to the inside of the restaurant to attack the fire.

About 7 minutes into the incident, a partial collapse was reported on a corner of the structure so crews evacuated the began to fight the fire defensively from outside.
The blaze was knocked down by 5:30 a.m. but firefighters remained on the scene for more than 7 hours putting out hot spots and working to determine how the fire started.

No injuries were reported.
The fire remained under investigation.
