Fishermen Find Decomposing Body Off Mallard Island
The county coroner's office is working to determine the person's identity.
A body was found in a marsh near Bay Point Sunday morning, Contra Costa County sheriff’s officials said today.
People fishing in the area of Mallard Island discovered the decomposing body and reported it at 8:49 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s Marine Patrol Unit recovered the body and the coroner’s office is working to determine its identity.

Investigators have not determined how long the body was in the water.
