Farm-to-Table Tour Visiting Walnut Creek Farmers' Market

  • Where: 1737 Locust S.t, Walnut Creek; Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Walnut Creek Farmers Market will become a stop on the third annual "Toyota Farm to Table Tour" that celebrates local cuisine. The tour celebrates local chefs who will prepare thousands of complimentary bite-sized tastings that highlight fresh, local ingredients.

Comedy Smackdown
  • Where: ; Saturday, 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Town Hall Theatre presents the "comedy smackdown of the century:" Crisis Hopkins vs. ComedySportz! Crisis Hopkins will open the show with a mix of improv and sketch comedy and then take on the legendary San Jose Comedysportz. Child care is available; reservations for the care at Lafayette Kids Cottage must be made by Friday.

Willows Theatre Company presents Once on this Island
  • Where:  (Willows Theatre Company); Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Willows Theatre has reopened its original location in the Willows Shopping Center. Taking place on a Caribbean island divided by social prejudice, Once On This Island is a calypso-flavored musical re-telling of The Little Mermaid.
  • Price: $20-32
Hairspray
  • Where: , Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Based on the 1988 John Waters' film, Hairspray is set in 1962 Baltimore, where the ’50s are out and change is in the air.  Can a larger-than-life adolescent win the affection of a TV heartthrob and integrate the network — singing and dancing all the while, of course — without denting her do?­
  • Price: $40-45
GOODGUYS 29TH ALL-AMERICAN GET-TOGETHER
  • Where/When: ; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Goodguys Car Show features more than 3,000 American-made hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and trick trucks. Family fun includes a Pinstripers Brush Bash, Arts & Crafts Show, Model Car Show and free model make-and-take plus a kids play area.
  • Price: $17 adults; $6 kids 7 - 12; free ages 6 and younger; $8 parking
