Get Out: Enjoy the Stars, Moon and Outdoors

Watch a movie outside, watch the full moon rising and go crazy with Dr. Seuss.

Music, Movie and Market in the Plaza

  • Where/When: ; Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Go for the farmers’ market, stay for the music and movie. Incendio, a Latin-guitar world-fusion group, will play. After dark, watch Angels in the Outfield (rated G).
  • Price: Free

Live Planetarium Show

  • Where/When: ; Fridays and Saturdays; 7 and 9 p.m.
  • Why Go: A new live planetarium presentation in Chabot's digital-dome planetarium will fly you through the solar system and warp out to the edge of the galaxy, exploring wonders of the night sky and lifting your imagination to a new orbit.
  • Price: Adults $14.95, youth $10.95, seniors and students (with ID) $11.95, children younger than 3 are free.

Concert in the Grove

  • Where: ; Saturday, 6 p.m.
  • Why Go: Vocal-ease and The Boogie Men will play. This retro band specializes in the nostalgic music of the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s, featuring flawless harmony and top-notch musicianship.  
  • Price: Free

Seussical Jr.

  • Where: ; Friday and Saturday, 7:15 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 2:15 p.m.
  • Why Go: Seussical Jr. lovingly brings our favorite Dr. Seuss characters to life in one fantastical show. Let your imagination carry you away with the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, the Whos, Thing 1 and Thing 2, the Grinch and Yertle the Turtle.
  • Price: $14.50, $10.50 for youth, students and seniors

Full Moon Walk on Mount Wanda

  • Where: ; Saturday
  • Why Go: This is a two-hour walk that will begin with a gentle saunter up Mt. Wanda to watch the full moon rise. Reservations are required.
