Inaugural JetSuite Flight To Burbank From Buchanan Field Feted

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY - An inaugural flight taking riders from Contra Costa County to Southern California was celebrated Tuesday morning after a private jet charter company announced it was launching its new service locally.

JetSuite will be doing daily trips to Burbank from Buchanan Field Airport near Concord through its new JetSuiteX service, as well as weekend trips to Las Vegas.

Local leaders and the company's representatives celebrated the first flight Tuesday at an event at the airport. The company has billed JetSuiteX, which offers flights on 30-seat private jets, as a way of "making luxury travel more affordable."

Seats on the local flight to Burbank cost between $100 and around $200, according to the company's website.

County airport officials have said Irvine-based JetSuite's new service may start offering flights out of Buchanan Field Airport to other destinations later this year.
