Here are the top stories today in Concord:
- One of the University of Idaho students who was killed at an off-campus house over the weekend was originally from Concord. Kaylee Goncalves spent her early childhood in Concord according to her Facebook page. At this point, police believe this was an isolated incident, with at least one of the victims being a target of the violence. (Claycord.com)
- Scouts from the Golden Gate Area Council collected an impressive 76,361 pounds of food during a recent drive, for the food bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Through a flyer campaign as well as door-to-door collections, these boys and girls brought in everything from canned goods to pancake mix for those in need this holiday season. Impressive showing, scouts! (Claycord.com)
- The Shopper Holiday Boutique is coming back to Concord and Pleasant Hill this year. And, I've heard Santa will make an appearance! You'll find something for everybody on your list. The first event will be at the Pleasant Hill Community Center on December 3. On December 4, you'll find the fun at Centre Concord. (Pioneer Publishers)
- A 45-year-old victim relinquished his car to three juveniles in Antioch after one of them allegedly pulled a gun on him. Police were able to find the vehicle and, with the help of CHP air surveillance, were able to make a traffic stop. The three car occupants were taken into custody without incident and a rifle and a "replica pistol" were recovered from the car. (East County Today)
- The City of Lafayette needs your input on ways to make its streets safer. You can view a map and pinpoint places where you have felt safe, or unsafe. "The mapping activity will be available through Nov. 20 at https://bit.ly/LRSPmap." (lamorindaweekly.com)
